Rotary Young Adults
Rotary YA Ireland is a new ambitious project being launched in Irish schools. In a nutshell, a Rotary YA is an annual school based project set up by the school with the support and co-operation of your local Rotary Club.
What a Rotary YA will look like in your school:
-
Rotary YA is a module run by your Transition Year students under the guidance and cover of the school and the TY head teacher.
-
Your Rotary YA will have a two-fold programme of events and activities, ie Charity projects and Community projects
-
It functions within the school with an appointed student committee taken from amongst your TY students. This committee will operate for the duration of the school year (ie from September to May)
-
All your students from all classes will be encouraged to join the Rotary YA and to get involved in the activities. Membership is free and members may join at any stage during the year
What Rotary Ireland will do for your Rotary YA:
-
Your school will be linked to a local Rotary in your area, who will help facilitate & co-ordinate your Rotary YA activities
What kind of Community projects are available to your Rotary YA:
Youth Leadership – Leading to serve others * Peace Advocacy- Peer to Peer Restorative justice * Just One Life – Road Safety
What kind of Charity projects are available to your Rotary YA:
* Purple4Polio Crocus Competition * Remembrance Tree Fundraiser * School Bikes for Africa * plus a local charity of your choice others.
Take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.
Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.
Any school running the Rotary YA project may also want to start an Interact Club in their school. Interact is Rotary’s national and international youth club where students can connect with likeminded students across Ireland and all around the world.
Your local Rotary will assist you to get the club launched and connected.
